Prelude Performances

An Evening of
Chamber Music
Featuring some of St. Louis’
finest young chamber musicians from the Preparatory Program, Community
Music School of Webster University.
The exciting program consists of string quartets, clarinet trios and string
sextets.
These talented young artists will be participating in the Fischoff International
Chamber Music Competition in May 2008.

“CELLOFEST”
!!
Featuring eight young
cellists from the Community Music School of Webster University in a program
of unusual works for various cello ensembles, including one with twelve
cellos!
Internationally renowned soprano, Christine
Brewer, graces this concert as guest soloist in Villa-Lobos’
radiant Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5.
Prelude Performances
concerts will be held at:

at the door: $6.00 for general admission; free for students with ID.
Prelude
Performances is a collaboration of Artist Presentation
Society and The Sheldon. The concerts showcase gifted young music students
age 25 or under who reside or study in Missouri or South-Central Illinois.
Eligibilty requirements
to participate in Prelude Performances are summarized below:
- Open to students
of classical music in Missouri and Central/Southern Illinois.
- Age limit is 25
years.
- Categories include
instrumental (piano, strings or wind instruments) and voice.
- Open to solo performers
or small ensembles.
- Applicants must
provide a CD consisting of a minimum of 15 minutes of their own performances.
- Chosen applicants
shall perform a 40-minute program at the concert.
